Summer Ministry Update

We have had a busy and exciting summer at Reach Forth. Here is a snap shot of some of the great things that have been going on!

School might have been out for the summer break but our community programs did not slow down!

Soccer Camp

imag0553We had 40 children from City Kidz attend the week of Soccer Camp this year. We once again partnered with Athletes in Action to bring the children a great week of soccer skill instruction, drills, games, and a daily devotional/small group time. This year we talked to the children about “character” and showed them what the Bible says about how God made us to live and how He can help us live. We talked about topics such as respect, humility, perseverance, encouragement, and self-control. We also had a great opportunity to share the Gospel story which is always an exciting part of the job. The children had some good questions and discussions in their groups that day. It was once again a great week of investing into young lives and sharing the Good News of Jesus!

Bolus Ball Hockey

ball-hockeyFor the second summer, we partnered with Forestview Church to run a children’s ball hockey program in the Aldershot area. Several new families and children participated in the program this year and all involved had a wonderful time! Chantale received a few great testimonials from parents at the end of the summer:

“Thank you so much Chantale for setting up the ball hockey. Really appreciate you and the entire team taking the time and effort. The games as well as the faith based teachings have been a great success.  Maxwell absolutely loves coming out to play and hear the teachings!”

“Firstly, thank you for your efforts and the church’s outreach program, namely, the ball hockey program. My daughter has played apart in both of the two sessions. She enjoyed playing and being social. My wife and I enjoyed the circle time the kids were given lead by an Adult who gave the children a message, a practical message that they could take home and apply to lifes challenges. My daughter and her younger sister hope to return to participate in the 2017 ball hockey season :)”

The soccer fields and baseball diamonds were filled with kids and adults this summer. 762 participants to be exact. We are so thankful for the 85+ volunteer coaches and team captains who helped us share the Good News each week.

exchangeThis season in Adult Soccer and Adult Slo Pitch we introduced a new platform that we created called EXCHANGE. During the devotional time each week, a team captain introduced a topic, story, or reflection question to the participants for them to consider. We then sent out a corresponding video message to follow up on the introduction. We were very excited to introduce this new concept to our adult leagues and were encouraged to hear that the content and messages had a real positive impact on many of our participants. Here are a few of the responses we received from participants when asked about their experience with EXCHANGE this summer:

“I Love EXCHANGE it was a great idea and I think lots of players watch the videos, the topics really spoke to me personally.  I encourage you to continue this good work.”

“It was great as I discussed it also at home.”

“I have loved these videos. They were so well done… I love the texted link sent to my phone.”

“I watched most of the videos and I thought they were excellent. I encouraged my teammates to watch them when possible. I thought they were professional, interesting, gripping and relevant. Thank you for your good work.”

We are looking forward to continuing this platform in our fall/winter adult leagues and continuing to improve it’s effectiveness! We would love for you to check out the videos we have created so far at

As usual the calendar has quickly turned over to September and parts our fall programming have already begun! We are anticipating over 400 participants in our leagues this fall/winter. We are also anticipating the start of another year of Gym Night with the Hess St. school students beginning in October. I look forward to giving you another exciting update in the fall on those programs.
