The Board of Reach Forth (RF) is excited to announce that we have begun the process of merging RF with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Canada (FCA Canada). FCA Canada is part of the global outreach of FCA which operates in over 100 countries and has been in existence for over 60 years.
FCA Canada, like RF, uses sports in leagues and camps to bring the Gospel to Children, Youth and Adults alike. FCA has a strong program for training of coaches to improve not only their ability to share the Gospel with their athletes, but also to be better coaches in their particular sport. RF will also have access to excellent devotional material that FCA Canada has developed for their activities.
The Board of RF sees this merger as not only an opportunity to significantly improve what we are already doing, but also to grow the Ministry in the Hamilton /Niagara corridor. Over the next little while, you will see some changes in branding and logo, but rest assured that the Ministry will not only continue to operate, but will flourish as we seek to follow God’s leading.
We look forward with excitement to see what God will do through this new Ministry in the years ahead.
Eric Smith
Chairman, Board of Reach Forth
Dear Friends of FCA Canada,
Earlier this year, FCA Canada and Reach Forth (RF), located in Hamilton, ON, initiated a dialogue to determine a way in which both Christian sports ministries could partner together in sharing the gospel across Ontario and Canada.
Over the course of many prayers and conversations, leading to a series of meetings between the board of directors and staff of both ministries, a memorandum of
understanding (MOU) was signed by both ministries, resulting in an official due diligence process towards a formal merger of both charities.
The merger is scheduled for completion on January 1st, 2022. On that date, the two ministries will officially become FCA Canada with a transition period to phase out the RF branding. As a result of the merger, some current RF staff and board members are transitioning to positions within the FCA Canada Team.
We are extremely thankful to God for His guidance, grace, and wisdom throughout this process. Additionally, we are beyond excited to see what God has in store for us in the future. May God use this merger of two ministries to make His name known across Canada with our mission:
“To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus
Christ and His church.”
We ask that you continue to pray for the staff and board members of RF and FCA Canada throughout this time.
In Christ,
Hans Ostrem
Executive Director & Regional Vice President
