Policies

Reach Forth’s inclement weather is as follows. Basically, we follow the City’s instruction. If the City of Hamilton, or Burlington, have closed facilities based on weather, then games are cancelled. If facilities are open, all decisions are made at the field, by the convener or game official (referee or umpire). Conveners will do their very best to communicate cancellations to you ASAP via email. Ultimately, we love to play sports, so we try to not let much get in the way of that.

If for any reason you choose to withdraw you/your child from registration prior to the season commencement there will be a $25 processing fee subtracted from your refund. Any refund requested after season commencement will have a $25 processing fee deducted and 50% of the registration fee will additionally be withheld to cover the costs incurred for uniforms, equipment, facilities and officials etc. No refunds after week three (3) unless it is for medical reasons and a Doctors note is supplied indicating that the player is unable to return for the remainder of the season. No refunds after the midpoint of the season for any reason. All refunds must be requested in writing to leagues@reachforth.ca. Uniform must be returned to the office before refund is processed.

When you register, you may request to play on the same team as one friend or relative. In order to ensure that your player request is honoured, players must mutually request one another when they register (i.e. Player A requests Player B; and Player B request Player A). This policy is in place to ensure that our staff, conveners, and league organizers can attempt to create balanced and fair systems to encourage friendly competition within the league.

At Reach Forth, we are very concerned about the safety and integrity of our participants, volunteers, and staff. All volunteers and staff are required to have a current police check on file (completed in the last three years) including a vulnerable sector screening. All volunteers and staff are also required to submit a leadership application on an annual basis. Additionally, volunteers and staff never interact one-on-one with participants. We recommend that parents and guardians remain at the sports facility throughout the duration of the sport or program. Reach Forth volunteers and staff do not take participants to the washroom, and our hockey programs have an “open door” policy when teams utilize the change rooms.
