The Board of Reach Forth (RF) is excited to announce that, after much prayer and seeking direction from God, we made the decision to merge with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Canada (FCA Canada). This decision was made after many discussions with FCA Personnel in which both parties felt the moving of the Holy Spirit in this endeavor. FCA Canada is part of the global outreach of FCA which operates in over 100 countries and has been in existence for over 60 years. FCA Canada, like RF, uses sports in leagues and camps to bring the Gospel to Children, Youth and Adults alike.
Reach Forth was officially incorporated in 1975 by its founder Peter Wright. It has operated since then in the Hamilton area bringing the Good News of Jesus to children and adults alike through many different sorts such as Slow Pitch, Soccer, Hockey, Basketball, Flag Football, Ball Hockey Tournaments and Gym Nights. The Board of RF felt that FCA had many resources available to them which would greatly enhance the ministry work over the years to come. FCA has a strong program for training of coaches to improve not only their ability to share the Gospel with their athletes, but also to be better coaches in their particular sport. RF will also have access to excellent devotional material that FCA Canada has developed for their activities. The Board of RF sees this merger as not only an opportunity to significantly improve what we are already doing, but also to grow the Ministry in the Hamilton /Niagara corridor.
Although the RF Logo and name will eventually be phased out, rest assured that the Ministry will not only continue to operate, but will flourish as we seek to follow God’s leading. We look forward with excitement to see what God will do through this new Ministry in the years ahead.
